Indication

Dexamethasone is given to avoid hypersensitivity reactions (HSR), prophylaxis of chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting, treatments of peritumoral edema in patients with brain tumors and in B-Cell malignancies like Multiple Myeloma.

Dexamethasone is used for the treatment for the palliative management of Leukemia and Lymphomas. It is used as premedication before taxane administration to avoid hypersensitivity reactions (HSR), prophylaxis of chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting (CINV), treatment of peritumoral edema in patients with brain tumours and in B-Cell malignancies like Multiple Myeloma.

Precaution

• Decmax is a prescription drug and should be used under proper medical guidance and advice.
• Growth retardation, osteoporosis, peptic ulcer, glaucoma and subcapsular cataracts, vertebral compression fractures. Cushing-like features, pancreatic dysfunction and pancreatitis, GI upsets, increased appetite, increased fragility of the skin. Increased susceptibility to infection may occur.
