Ibandronic acid- bandrone
“Ibandronic acid” is the Drug / Molecule content in "Bandrone". Bandrone belongs to a class of medications known as bisphosphonate. The action of ibandronic acid on bone tissue is based partly on its affinity for hydroxyapatite, which is part of the mineral matrix of bone. It functions by preventing the breakdown of bone by bone cells known as osteoclasts. This activity inhibits osteoclast activity and reduces bone resorption.
Indication
Bandrone is used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.

Precaution
- Bandrone is a prescription drug and should be used under proper medical guidance and advice.
- Caution should be exercised in patients with history of allergy, taking any oral medications, undergoing radiation therapy, anemia, gastrointestinal problems including esophageal ulcer, cancer, infectious diseases, blood clotting problem, liver or kidney disease.
- Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
