Trabectedin-trabec
“Trabectedin” is the Drug / Molecule content in "Trabec". Trabectedin is a novel marine antineoplastic, tetrahydroisoquinolinealkaloid. It has a unique mechanism of action and is believed to involve the production of superoxide near the DNA strand, resulting in DNA backbone cleavage and cell apoptosis. The active substance trabectedin, is a natural product originally isolated from the Caribbean sea squirt, and is currently manufactured by total synthesis.
Indication
Trabectedin is used for the treatment of patients with advanced soft tissue sarcoma (STS) after failure of anthracyclines and ifosfamide, or for those patients who are unsuitable to receive these agents.
