Valcip
VALCIP contains Drug / Molecule “Valganciclovir”. It is the prodrug of ganciclovir with improved bioavailability. Ganciclovir is a synthetic analogue of 2-deoxyguanosine. Once phosphorylated, ganciclovir triphosphate inhibits viral DNA synthesis..
Indication
VALCIP is an antiviral medicine. It is commonly used to treat and prevent cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections of the eye and body.It is indicated for the prevention of CMV disease in kidney, heart, and kidney-pancreas transplant patients at high risk (Donor CMV seropositive/Recipient CMV seronegative.

- Valcip medicine is not recommended for pregnant women.
- Valcip may cause liver injury and Pancreatitis. It is not recommended in children less than 2 years of age due to the increased risk of liver injury and also in pregnant women.
